My name is Fred Riepsaame and I was born in 1959 in Rotterdam.
In 1978 I started taking pictures and developed and printed my own black and white photos, in 2006 I switched from analogue to digital.
By reading a lot, for example in photo magazines and later via the Internet, but also by observing, I have learned a lot.
Even more importantly, by taking a lot of pictures, trying things out and learning from my mistakes, because that is also part of it.
I still take pictures with great pleasure and passion and I learn new things every day.
Observing and photographing people in all kinds of everyday situations is my passion, simply put "not posed" but also taking portraits of people who appeal to me, for example through clothing or through certain expressions, make-up or natural beauty is a challenge.
Some of these street portraits have resulted in a photoshoot that I also do, completely free of charge on the basis of TFP, if the model portrayed likes this. Look at Photoshoot Info what TFP means.
Architecture (city) photography and then also a bit abstract I also find interesting to do.
I can be found in Rotterdam where in between street photography I also photograph the construction of new projects (buildings/bridges etc.) as you can find under the tab Rotterdam and for old photos under the tab Analoog Archief under "Oud Rotterdam".
